Route:

From Kampala, you’ll need to head east towards Mbale, the nearest town to Sipi Falls. The distance between Kampala and Mbale is approximately 230 kilometers (143 miles).

Road Conditions:

The road from Kampala to Mbale is generally in good condition, with well-paved roads. However, there some potholes or rough patches in certain areas. So recommended to drive carefully and follow road signs.

Travel Time:

The journey from Kampala to Mbale takes around 4 to 5 hours, depending on traffic and road conditions.

Mbale to Sipi Falls:

From Mbale, you’ll continue driving northeast towards Sipi Falls. Sipi Falls is located approximately 55 kilometers (34 miles) from Mbale.

Entrance Point:

There is no official entrance gate to the Falls, as it is a series of three waterfalls located in the foothills of Mount Elgon. You’ll need to drive to the village of Sipi, which serves as the base for exploring the falls.

Directions in Sipi:

Once you reach the village of Sipi, you can ask locals or follow signs directing you to the different waterfalls. The main waterfalls in this area  known as Sipi Falls. And they are within a short driving distance from the village.

Parking and Trekking:

There are designated parking areas near the waterfalls where you can park your vehicle. From there, you can embark on guided treks to each of the waterfalls. Exploring the stunning landscapes, lush greenery, and enjoying the scenic views.
